Shabbat HaGadol for Hebrew Year 6205 begins at sundown on Friday, 14 April 2445 and ends at nightfall on Saturday, 15 April 2445. This corresponds to Parashat Metzora.

Shabbat HaGadol (“Great Shabbat” שבת הגדול) is the Shabbat immediately before Passover. According to tradition, the name recalls the first such Shabbat in Egypt, when the Israelites received the commandment to set aside a lamb for the Passover sacrifice. There is a special Haftarah reading on this Shabbat from the book of Malachi. Traditionally, a lengthy sermon is given to the community in the afternoon.
