Passover, the Feast of Unleavened Bread 🫓

Pesach for Hebrew Year 6590 begins in Israel 🇮🇱 at sundown on Friday, 29 March 2830 and ends at nightfall on Friday, 5 April 2830.

Passover (Hebrew: פֶּסַח Pesach) commemorates the Exodus of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt. According to the Book of Exodus, G‑d commanded the Israelites to mark their doorframes with lamb’s blood so that G‑d would “pass over” their homes during the tenth plague, which struck the firstborn of Egypt. Passover begins on the 15th day of the month of Nisan in the Jewish calendar and is celebrated for seven or eight days. The story of the Exodus is retold during the Passover Seder, a ceremonial meal in which families read from the Haggadah. A central observance is abstaining from leavened foods (chametz) and eating matzah (unleavened bread) throughout the holiday.
